It’s really almost here. Tomorrow Team One Life heads out on their epic adventure—competing in the 2024 Race Across America. The past few days have been a whirlwind of travel, logistics, paperwork, press conference and official photos, and training—but also laughter and friendship. The four riders and ten crew shared a rental home outside of the start city of Oceanside, California. That gave us the opportunity and elbow room to set up bikes, organize supplies, and practice lots of the elements we’ll use during the race.

Our start is at 12:08 PDT/3:08 EDT Saturday, June 15. You can join the fun even if you’re not in Oceanside: The start will be livestreamed on Facebook by the Race Across America organizers. Check it out via https://www.facebook.com/RAAMraces.

After that, keep tabs on our progress right here at our website on the tracker page, https://teamonelife.org/race-updates/tracker/. And we’ll be sharing photos along the way via Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/teamonelifeRAAM/) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/teamoneliferaam/).

One of the very special things that will accompany us across the country is a chain of links of paper. Many of these links were created by kids at a Special Love event where we talked about bicycling, working as a team, and our upcoming race. It’s really meaningful to have their individual links turned into a chain that we’ll carry with us physically and mentally the whole way.

And of course, Links in the Chain is super meaningful to us in another way as well. Our Links in the Chain supporters are individuals who have provided financial support to the team and to Special Love. It’s not to late to join the Chain: If you’re able, please consider making a donation to support Special Love’s amazing programs for children with cancer and their families.

With that, we’ve got some final preparations to make and one last full night of sleep before we toe the starting line. Here is a gallery of a few photos from the past few days—enjoy!
