Two Days In!

Team One Life is already in Colorado. Less than 48 hours since crossing the start line in Oceanside, California, they have checked off California, Arizona, and Utah on their “states we finished” list. After crossing the coastal mountains in California, things got HOT. Temperatures topped out around 115 degrees Saturday afternoon. Overnight temperatures moderated some, but definitely not down to “cool.” Swapping riders frequently to give them the opportunity to refresh in air conditioning was important.

Sunday daytime temperatures were quite warm again, too, in the mid-90s. But heading north and into higher elevations let the temperatures overnight and into the pre-dawn Monday hours drop into the mid-40s. So riders wore very different kit as they crossed into Colorado.

The riders look strong, often coming in and out of their transitions (where they change riders) with big smiles. And the crew are keeping track of their hydration and nutrition, and tackling navigating according the to Race Across America route book. There is ALWAYS something going on!

Here are a few highlight photos from the first two days. Keep following along on Facebook and Instagram and checking where Team One Life is on the tracker!
